House of Hearts ABA was founded to deliver Applied Behavior Analysis therapy the way it should be delivered — with low BCBA caseloads, double the standard supervision for RBTs, and a dedicated care coordinator assigned to every family. Our clinical model is built around therapist retention because turnover is the enemy of progress for children in long-term care. We accept Medicaid in every state we serve and we are in-network with most major commercial insurance carriers.

For Reporters

Frequently requested information.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?

ABA is the most rigorously studied therapy for autism, with more than fifty years of peer-reviewed research behind it. It uses positive reinforcement and individualized teaching to build communication, social, daily-living, and emotional-regulation skills. It is recognized by the US Surgeon General, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Institute of Mental Health as a gold-standard intervention. Every plan is built around the specific child rather than a fixed curriculum.

How does House of Hearts differ from other ABA practices?

House of Hearts caps every BCBA caseload to protect quality, provides roughly double the standard supervision for RBTs, and assigns a dedicated care coordinator to every family. The clinical model is built around therapist retention because turnover disrupts progress for children in long-term care. The practice accepts Medicaid in every state it serves and is in-network with most major commercial carriers.

What is the current waitlist situation for ABA therapy in the United States?

Families across the country routinely wait six months or longer to begin ABA through traditional providers, driven by clinician shortages and high turnover. Demand has grown as autism diagnosis rates have risen and insurance mandates have expanded. House of Hearts was founded specifically to compress that timeline by hiring and retaining clinicians differently. Waitlist conditions vary significantly by state and payer.

What is the Family Empowerment Scholarship and which families qualify?

The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) is a Florida program administered by Step Up For Students that gives eligible families funds for approved services including therapies. Florida students with qualifying diagnoses may use the scholarship toward care. Eligibility and approved uses are set by the program and change periodically. House of Hearts helps Florida families understand how the scholarship may apply to their care.

How do insurance coverage and Medicaid work for ABA across the states House of Hearts serves?

ABA coverage is governed by a mix of federal mandates, state Medicaid programs, and commercial plan terms, so specifics vary by state and payer. House of Hearts accepts Medicaid in all four states it serves and is in-network with most major commercial carriers. The practice verifies each family's benefits before care begins and handles authorizations. Coverage details are confirmed individually during intake.
